About the role
Where you will make an impact
This is not a traditional accounting role. You will work directly with the CEO to position Onyx for venture capital, strategic investment, grants, accelerators, development-finance opportunities, and other forms of growth capital while building credible relationships with investors in Ghana, across Africa, and internationally.
What you will do
Core responsibilities
- Build and manage Onyx's investor, funding, grant, accelerator, and strategic-capital pipeline.
- Research and qualify venture capital firms, angel investors, family offices, development-finance programs, strategic investors, and relevant corporate partners.
- Develop relationships with investors and ecosystem partners across Ghana, Africa, and international markets.
- Support the CEO in preparing investor presentations, funding proposals, investment memoranda, and fundraising materials.
- Coordinate investor meetings, introductions, follow-ups, and ongoing investor communication.
- Build and maintain an investor CRM with clear stages, ownership, next actions, and relationship history.
- Work with Finance on forecasts, funding requirements, runway analysis, use-of-funds models, and due-diligence preparation.
- Maintain fundraising data-room readiness across financial, product, governance, traction, and corporate materials.
- Research comparable companies, fundraising transactions, valuations, and investment activity relevant to Onyx and its technology businesses.
- Evaluate capital and strategic partnership opportunities that can accelerate Onyx Insights and future Group technology products.
What we are looking for
Role requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Investment, or a related field. Advanced finance or investment qualifications are an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of venture capital, startup fundraising, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, investor relations, or a closely related field.
- Strong financial analysis, research, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Confidence communicating directly with founders, investors, executives, financial institutions, and professional advisers.
- Understanding of technology, SaaS, cloud, fintech, AI, or the African startup ecosystem is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing financial models, investment decks, data rooms, fundraising pipelines, or investment materials is an advantage.

- A qualified pipeline of local and international investors is built and kept current.
- Onyx has a clear fundraising strategy, target investor list, funding narrative, and use-of-funds model for each active raise.
- Investor materials and the due-diligence data room remain ready for serious conversations.
- Strategic introductions, investor meetings, grants, accelerators, and non-dilutive opportunities are pursued consistently and on time.
